- Het orgel in Saint John's Episcopal Church in Quincy, Illinois, is in 1863 door de firma E. & G.G. Hook voor de Congregational Church aan Shawmut Street in Boston, Massachusetts. Het orgel is zeer waarschijnlijk nooit in deze kerk geplaatst, omdat men uiteindelijk een groter instrument wilde. In 1866 is het door Hook geplaatst in de Pine Street Congregational Church in Lewiston, Maine, waarvoor een nieuwe orgelkas werd vervaardigd.
- In 1923 is het orgel door de firma Hook & Hastings omgebouwd en uitgebreid. De tractuur werd electropneumatisch gemaakt met een vrijstaande speeltafel. De omvang van de klavieren werd vergroot van 56 naar 61 toetsen, van het pedaal van 25 naar 30.
- Het orgel heeft in Lewiston dienst gedaan tot 1940. Na een fusie van de gemeente met een andere werd het kerkgebouw gesloten en afgebroken. Het orgel is daarna verkocht aan de Foss Street Methodist Church in Biddeford, Maine. In deze kerk deed het dienst tot 1999, toen deze kerk werd gesloten wegens sterk teruglopend kerkbezoek.
- Daarna werd het orgel opgeslagen. Voor Saint John's Episcopal Church was men op zoek naar een ander orgel. De firma Quimby kreeg de opdracht tot restauratie en opbouw van het instrument. Het oude orgel van de kerk ging verloren door een brand als gevolg van blikseminslag op 23 augustus 2002, terwijl de restauratie van het nieuwe al begonnen was. Na herstel van het kerkgebouw is het orgel in 2003 geplaatst en in gebruik genomen.
