- Heinrich Schaper built a new organ for the Nicolaikirche in Alfeld in the years 1862-1863. The organ had three manuals and pedal with 31 stops. The original front pipes were removed in 1917 and then replaced by zinc ones. In 1957-1962 the organ was rebuilt by Friedrich Weißenborn and adapted to the taste of the time. The Echo Work has been removed and a positive (Rückpositiv) has been constructed. After the work there were 37 stops. In 1969 Emil Hammer expanded the organ by three new registers.
- In 2015 Jörg Bente carried out a restoration. The original organ was partly reconstructed, including the Echo work. It has since had 43 stops. New pewter prospect pipes have also been installed.
