Built by: E.F. Walcker & Cie. (1893) - opus 593

  • In 1893 the Walcker company installed a new organ in the Dorotheenstädtischen Realgymnasium in Berlin. It was built on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of Prussia. The organ was tuned syntonically to a design by the Japanese Dr. Shohé with perfect thirds and fifths. The instrument was presented to the public on September 21, 1893. Paul Schmidt played the organ, both solo and in combination with other instruments.
  • It is very likely that the organ was only temporarily in the gymnasium. The further fate of the instrument is unknown.
