  • In 1738, Pierre Montbrun built an organ for the Église Saint-Vincent in Montreal. The instrument was not fully completed. But in 1778 it had to be dismantled due to works on the vault. In the years 1781-1785 it was rebuilt and extended by Jean-Pierre Cavaillé, with Dom Bedos acting as advisor. The organ now had forty stops.
  • In the nineteenth century the organ was repaired by the organ maker Cabias from Carcassone. It got its current shape in 1883, after a major renovation by Théodore Puget. The old back positive was emptied. A four-manual organ in French-romantic style was created.
  • On the advice of Pierre Cochereau, the organ was restored and expanded in three steps. The work was carried out by the firms Merklin (1962), Edmon Costa (1967) and Boisseau-Cattiaux (1982).
