- In 1790 Albertus van Gruisen built a new organ for the Dutch Reformed Schoterlandse Kerk in Heerenveen. The instrument that was donated to the church from a bequest by Martha Kinnema of Scheltinga, in memory of her husband, Menno Coehoorn Scheltinga, Grietman of Schoterland. It had 18 stops on the main organ and the positive (chaire organ), with an attached pedal (pull down). The instrument was inaugurated on October 13, 1790. In 1861 it was rebuilt by the firm L. van Dam & Zn. It now had 19 stops. Pieter van Dam carried out a restoration in 1925, and J.C. Sanders carried out repairs in 1932. The organ was offered for sale in 1969 because the church building was demolished.
- The organ was then purchased for the modern Marturiakerk, Thorbeckelaan 197 in Assen, a church from 1965 designed by C.J. Groen. The church in Assen first wanted to buy an organ by De Koff from 1915 (from IJsselstein), but eventually opted for the organ by Van Gruisen. Mense Ruiter restored it and installed the instrument in the Marturiakerk in Assen. He modified the front slightly. The three large statues with representations of faith, hope and love could no longer be placed. They ended up in 1978 on the organ of the Koepelkerk in Leeuwarden. On 20 May 1972 the organ in Assen could be dedicated. An independent pedal with nine stops was installed in 1975, with part of the work being done by volunteers. Seven ranks came from two other organs: from IJsselstein (De Koff) and from the Juliana Church in Scheveningen (H. van Gelder). Two stops were made new by Mense Ruiter.
- The Marturia Church closed its doors on January 1, 2003. The building was demolished in the spring of 2006. The organ was subsequently dismantled and stored by Sicco Steendam. It was not possible to relocated the instrument in a church in Friesland or Drenthe. In 2010-2011 the organ was restored by Luis Magaz in collaboration with Gerard de Graaf and transferred to the Real Oratorio del Caballero de Gracia in Madrid. The pedal is reduced to four stops. On June 21, 2011, the organ was dedicated with a concert by Miguel Bernal.
