- In 1881 bouwde Alfred Hunter een orgel voor de kerk Saint Mary-at-the-Walls in Colchester. In 1931 werkte de firma Hill, Norrman & Beard aan het orgel. Zij wijzigden de dispositie enigszins (Twelfth en Mixture van Great werden vervangen door labiaalstemmen). Enkele jaren later werd het Choir Organ in een zwelkast geplaatst. In 1977 werd deze kerk gesloten en verbouwd tot kunstencentrum. Nog enkele jaren was het orgel in gebruik voor concerten. Bij een verbouwing van het interieur besloot men later toch het orgel te verkopen. Het instrument werd geschonken aan Brentwood Cathedral.
- Na de bouw van de nieuwe kathedraal plaatste de firma Percy Daniels & Co. het orgel over, waarbij het ingrijpend is verbouwd en uitgebreid. De orgelkas is ontworpen door Quinlan Terry, architect van de kathedraal. In 1991 werden kerk en orgel in gebruik genomen. Rond 2010 is door de firma Daniels een revsiie uitgevoerd, waarbij enkele stemmen opnieuw zijn geïntoneerd. Ook is er een Solo Fanfare Trumpet geplaatst.
