- The Christuskirche in Mönchengladbach was built in 1852. At the request of the Prussian king, the tower was built as a separate bell tower. The building completely burned down as a result of bombing raids on the city on the night of August 30 to 31, 1943. The organ was lost, an instrument by Ernst Seifert from 1903, which had been expanded by Johannes Klais in 1922.
- The rebuilding of the church lasted until 1951. A new organ was built by the company Emil Hammer. This instrument was inaugurated on December 21, 1952, the fourth Sunday of Advent. In 1967 the organ was expanded by the Hammer company.
