De kerk van Saint-Martin in Sand raakte in de Tweede Wereldoorlog zwaar beschadigd. Het orgel van de kerk, gebouwd door Joseph Stiehr in 1865-1867, ging hierdoor verloren. Na de oorlog werd de kerk hersteld. De firma Schwenkedel bouwde een nieuw orgel. Uit het oude instrument namen zij de windladen over en enkele registers. Het orgel is in 2001 gerestaureerd door Gaston Kern.
