1876 T. Wadsworth & Co.  new organ
1947 Rushworth & Dreaper  transfer/relocate

  • In 1876 the company Wadsworth & Co. built a new organ for Saint Luke's Church in Goostrey. The instrument was placed on the north side of the nave, next to the choir of the church. It was overhauled by Rushworth & Dreaper in 1947. They modified the action to electropneumatics and installed a new free-standing console. The organ was reloacted to the gallery on the west side of the church.
  • The organ fell into serious disrepair over time. A restoration was considered too expensive, so the organ was demolished at the end of 2008 except for the prospect. An electronic organ has been installed with speakers behind the facade. The console of the instrument was offered for sale in 2020 via an auction website.
