Heinz Wilbrand leverde in 1979 een studieorgel aan de Kirchenmusikschule in het Sankt-Gregorius-Haus in Aachen. Het is later door Wilbrand gereviseerd en overgeplaatst naar de Sankt Barbarakirche in Aachen-Rothe Erde. Daarbij werd de Sordun 16' van het pedaal vervangen door een Subbaß 16'. De Sankt Barbarakirche is op 13 januari 1901 gewijd. In mei 1944 raakte het gebouw zwaar beschadigd door een bombardement. Herbouw volgde, waarna op 9 oktober 1957 de herinwijding plaats vond. In 1974 is de kerk verbouwd. Hierbij werd het oude orgel verwijderd.
