Demolished (1953)

  • In the years 1882-1884 a new church was built in Reudnitz in neo-Gothic style, after a design by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel. The building was named Markuskirche. The Walcker company was commissioned to build an organ. It was installed at the end of February 1884 and put into use on March 15, 1884. The organ had mechanical action and cone chests.
  • The Walcker organ was demolished in 1953. Using part of Walcker's pipework and the basement of the organ case, the Eule company built a new organ in 1953-1954 with slider chests, a prospect with free-standing pipes and a positive in the gallery.
  • After the Second World War, the church building fell into increasing disrepair and had to be closed in 1973 due to dilapidation. Despite protests, the church was demolished on February 25, 1978 and replaced by a small church hall.
