In 1897, the Walcker company built a large organ for the Basilica Nuestra Señora de la Merced in Buenos Aires. It was constructed with cone chest and pneumatic action. The instrument was first shown to the public in the organ room of the Walcker workshop in Ludwigsburg on July 12, 1897. Then it was shipped to Argentina. It was dedicated in November 1897. In 1904 Camille Saint-Saëns played this organ while visiting the city. It has been completely preserved in its original state.
