The organ contains older material: Pipes from 1885 by Åkerman & Lund
After the demolition of the interior of the main organ of the cathedral in Växjö in connection with the reconstruction of the Wahlberg/Schwan organ from 1779, the pipework was inventoried. It turned out that about twenty stops by Åkerman & Lund from 1885 were present. Fifteen of these have been used for the construction of a new choir organ, which has been installed in the southeast of the choir. The organ was built by Sune Fondell under the advice of Thomas Niklasson. The Oboe was made by Setterqvist and dates from around 1927. The organ has slider chests, with full electric action.
