Built by: Josef Maier (1992) - opus 14

  • The building of the Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum in Augsburg was built in 1910 as the Musikschule of Augsburg, that was modified in 1926 into a Konservatorium. The building was damaged due to bombings in 1944, but could be restored in 1951-1952. In 1992 a new organ with eleven stops was installed by Josef Maier.
  • It seems that the school already possessed two organs: Steinmeyer opus 1800 from 1951, with eight stops, and an organ by Guido Nenninger from 1956.
  • In 1998, the Konservatorium of Augsburg merged with that of Nürnberg to become the Musikhochschule Nürnberg-Augsburg. Since 2008, the school is part of the University of Augsburg, and the new name is Leopold-Mozart-Zentrum für Musik und Musikpädagogik.
