The organ contains older material: Organ case from 1888 by Joseph Merklin
In 1888 Joseph Merklin built a new organ for the Église Saint-Sébastien in Nancy. It was placed in the Temple Réformé in Saint-Jean-du-Gard in 1958 by Alfred Kern. He built a new organ in Merklin's organ case. In 1966 Edmond Costa carried out a restoration, in which he also expanded the organ with a Positif. The organ was restored in 1998 by Gérald Guillemin in collaboration with Bernard Coquet.
