- The organ in the old abbey church Saint-Pierre in Moissac was built in 1863-1864 by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. The organ case is much older. It was made by Jean Dussault for an organ by Jean Haon in 1663. In 1699 the instrument was rebuilt by Jean de Joyeuse. The Positif de Dos was added in the eighteenth century. Cavaillé-Coll's instrument was dedicated on June 29, 1864. Joseph Leÿbach played the inaugural concert.
- In 1920 the organ was renovated by Maurice Puget. Léopold Trosseille carried out maintenance works in 1950. The Basson 16' was replaced by a Nazard 2 2/3', and the composition of the Plein-Jeu was altered. In 1986-1988, the Manufacture d'Orgue Languedocienne carried out a restoration. The changes from 1950 have been undone.
