  • The organ in Embrun Cathedral was built in its current form in 1632 by Dominique Eustache. He used the old Gothic organ from the end of the fifteenth century, built by Pierre Marchand, as the basis. The new organ had a main work (grand Orgue) and a positive (Positif de Dos).
  • In 1750, Samson Scherrer rebuilt the organ to its present condition. He kept the pipework and walnut windchests of his predecessors, but hid the Gothic organ case in a Baroque casing. Eustache's positive moved as a separate organ to the Chapel of St. Anne and is still one of the showpieces of the cathedral there.
  • In 1897 Maurice Puget from Toulouse expanded the organ with a pneumatic pedal. Gonzalez made a new electric action for the pedal in 1952 and expanded the Récit with two octaves in the bass. In 2007 the organ was restored by Pascal Quoirin. He reconstructed the situation of 1750.
