2011 Manufacture d’Orgues Füglister Sàrl  new organ in old case

  • In 1898 Theodor Kuhn built an organ for the Johanneskirche in Zurich with 24 registers. On the advice of Viktor Schlatter, organist of the Grossmünster in the city, the organ was converted and expanded in 1936 by the Kuhn company. The pneumatic action was electrified, and the organ received a number of new registers. It now had 32 stops.
  • The Füglister company carried out a renovation in 2011. This in fact meant rebuilding the organ on mechanical slider chests and expanding itwith a third manual. Twenty registers were taken from the old organ. The new design is inspired by French Baroque for the first two manuals, and French Romantic for the new third manual.
