In 1814 bouwde Thomas Simpson een orgel voor de Lutherse Kerk in Strandstraat bij Kaapstad. Het orgel had oorspronkelijk een contra-octaaf tot G, zoals gebruikelijk bij engelse orgels uit deze tijd. In 1936/1937 is het door Rushworth & Dreaper gemoderniseerd. Het kreeg nu pneumatische tractuur, een moderne manuaalomvang en een vrij pedaal.
