- In 1874 the Walcker company built a new organ with two manuals and pedal and a total of seventeen stops for the newly built Stadtkirche in Homburg. It was equipped with mechanical action and cone chests. Church and organ were dedicated on November 29, 1874.
- The stop action was pneumatised in 1922. Walcker expanded the organ in 1932 with a third manual and it has had 37 stops since then. The action now was entirely converted to pneumatics. Rudolf Barbey was consultant during the rebuilt.
- The instrument was damaged during the Second World War. Walcker carried out an overhaul in 1951. In addition, the disposition of the Schwellwerk has been modified. The organ was demolished in 1962. In the church there was a temporary positive, until a new Steinmeyer organ could be dedicated in 1972.
