- In the years 1710-1711, Johann Adam Gundermann built a new organ for the Stadtkirche in Sontra. It had two manuals and an attached pedal. In the course of the eighteenth century, the organ was expanded with a free pedal with five or six stops. To place this, the organ was expanded with two side wings. This work may have been performed in 1759 by Johannes Schlottmann. In 1934, the interior, which was almost entirely in its original state, was demolished and replaced by a new pneumatic instrument. In 1964 this was again replaced by a new organ by Dieter Nöske. The pedal wings were removed from the case in the 1964 restoration.
- The organ has beenr restored in 2019-2020 by Orgelbau Rotenburg. The pedal organ was expanded with some new stops.

Het oorspronkelijke werk van Gundermann had als dispositie (volgens het contract): Unter Clavier (CD-c'''): Quintadönn 16', Principal 8', Rohrflöte 8', Viola di Gamba 8' Octav 4', Spitzflötte 4', Nasset 3', Octav 2', Quinta 1 1/2', Mixtur 4-5-6 fach, Trommete 8'. Ober Clavier (CD-c'''): Flötte Doux 8', Plockflötte 4', Octave 2', Ziefe Flötte 1 1/2', Scharff 4 fach, Fagott oder Dulcian 8' (dit was een Fagott). Pedal (oorspronkelijk aangehangen, 18e eeuw geplaatst): Sub-Baß 16', Oktav-Baß 8', Wald-Flöte 4', Super-Oktav 4', Posaune 16' ("zwey Register für die Posaune, jedes 16'). Speelhulpen: Tremulante, 2 Sperrventile, Clavier-Koppel, 2 Cymbeln Sterne. |
