Edward Dorricott bouwde in 1980 een orgel met vierentwintig stemmen voor het Birmingham & Midland Institute. Bij de bouw gebruikte hij voornamelijk ouder pijpwerk, afkomstig van het gesloopte Nicholson-orgel dat in het oude gebouw van het instituut had gestaan, gelegen aan Paradise Street. Het orgel is gebouwd met electro-pneumatische kegelladen en een geheel open opstelling van het pijpwerk.
