To bridge the period between the demolition of the old organ and the installation of a new organ, a small Organ by Bedient was commissioned in November 1994 at the Cathedral of Saint John Baptist in Charleston, South Carolina. It is opus 50 by the builder. After the completion of the main organ, it remained in the possession of the congregation.
