- Johannes Kohlhaas built a new organ in the Sankt Pankratiuskirche in Budenheim in 1747. Despite various repairs and restorations, it has largely been preserved in its original state. The most important interventions took place in 1834 by Bernhard Dreymann and in 1932 by Kaspar Dülk. The latter replaced the Mixtur and the Gambe (that dated from the nineteenth century), but kept the pipes of those ranks in the organ case.
- The church building was decommissioned around 1960. The organ then remained unused in the building, and slowly but surely decayed. In 1986 it was rediscovered, partly due to plans by the Evangelische Gemeinde to use the church building again. The instrument was then disassembled by the company Vleugels and completely restored and brought back to its original condition. There is one spare slide on the wind chest, probably intended for a Trompete. In 2003 the organ was temporarily rebuilt in the Sankt Quintinkirche in Mainz, in anticipation of the completion of the restoration of the Sankt Pankratiuskirche. In 2010 the organ was installed again in Budenheim.
