De grote neogotische kerk van Saint Matthew in Northampton werd eind negentiende eeuw voltooid. De firma Walker leverde in 1895 een orgel. Adviseur bij de bouw was George Clement Martin, organist van Saint Paul's Cathedral in London. Het orgel is rond 1965 gereviseerd door de firma Walker. Hierbij werd de tractuur geëlectrificeerd.
