Built by: Orgelbau Kuhn AG (2007)
The organ contains older material: Pipes from 1887 by Friedrich Goll Orgelbau AG
Chur Cathedral was completely restored in the years 2001-2007. In 2006, the EMS Group donated the money for the construction of an entirely new organ for the church. This organ was built by the company Kuhn and was installed in the church from November 2006. The old organ, built by Franz Gattringer in 1937-1938, was placed on the west side of the church, and was in poor condition. It was also very compact and difficult to maintain. A large part of the pipework of this old organ has been overhauled and used in the construction of the new instrument. This concerns pipe work from 1887, from an older organ of the church that was built by Friedrich Goll in the years 1884-1887. On October 28, 2007 the new organ was dedicated with a performance by Maja Bösch. The new organ stands out for its modern design.
