  • In 1913 Johannes Klais built an organ for the auditorium of the new gymnasium in Trier. On January 10, 1914, the building and the organ were both inaugurated. The gymnasium was given the name Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gymnasium. The organ was fitted with a wind motor in 1931. Until that year, the bellows had to be trodden. After the First World War, Trier was occupied by French troops for a long time. The gymnasium was a Lycée Français from 1923 to 1930. In 1931 the school became German again.
  • In 1945 the building was heavily damaged by bombing. For a long time, windows were missing, causing the organ to fall into a bad state. In the years 1949 to 1956 the Evangelische Kirche used the auditorium. They had the organ restored by the Kemper company in 1954. However, the specification was altered to a more baroque character. In 1956 the auditorium was reopened as an auditorium. The organ was overhauled by Oberlinger in 1971. They placed a Holzpommer 8' on the pedal. After 1978 the organ was hardly used anymore and it is now in an unplayable condition. There are plans to reconstruct it to its original state.
