2009 Urkurakentamo Martti Porthan Oy  restoration

  • Amos Anderson (1878 - 1961) was a Finnish newspaper tycoon. In 1913 he had a large office building built in the centre of the city, designed by W.G. Palmqvist and Einar Stjöström. He set up a chapel room on the top floor, where the Kangasala company installed an organ in 1926. The disposition was designed by John Sundberg. The organ was decorated with paintings by Henry Ericsson. The organ was delivered on February 28, 1926.
  • After Anderson's death, the building was converted into a museum, which opened in 1965. The firm Martti Porthan restored the organ in 2009. A new wind motor was installed, because the old one had disappeared.
