1930 Norman & Beard Hill  new organ
2018 Harrison & Harrison  restoration

  • The Anglican Cathedral of Saint Peter in Adelaide is built in the Gothic Revival style. In the years 1927-1930, the Australian branch of the British firm Hill, Norman & Beard supplied a large organ. It did not have a real organ case, but the pipes were placed in an open arrangement in niches. Choir Organ and Solo Organ are in the same swell box. The organ was dedicated on July 6, 1930.
  • In 1963 an organ case with front was designed by Walter Bagot. The first part was installed that same year and was donated by the designer. The second part of the case has not yet been installed. In 1986 a new Mixture was placed on Great. In 1989 a Trombone 32' was placed on the pedal, albeit as an extension of the Trombone 16'.
  • A major restoration was carried out in 2017-2018 by Harrison & Harrison. One important thing about this restoration is that the organ case was completed following the original design of 1963. The original pitch (a' = 435 Hz) was reconstructed. The pedal organ has been expanded with a new Principal 8'/Fifteenth 4'-rank, and a new Mixture was installed on Swell.
