- In 1904, Murray Harris, renamed Los Angeles Art Organ Company, built a three-manual organ for the Holy Cross Church in San Francisco. The organ suffered from the earthquakes of 1906. Parts of the case were subsequently made new and placed by the Schoenstein Company. Schoenstein also installed a second Principal 8' on Great.
- San Francisco was again hit by an earthquake in 1989. The consequence of this was that the church building had to close due to the danger of collapse. There was no money for restoration. The organ was eventually restored by Richard Bond in 1995 and transferred to Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Portland, Oregon. Bond also added new registers, taking as an example the pipe work of the Harris organ from the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles.
