  • There was an old organ in the Maria Basilica in Danzig, which was completely converted by Kemper in 1938. This instrument was dismantled and stored during the Second World War to prevent destruction. However, the organ disappeared and has never been found again. The organ had five manuals and was positioned on the west side of the church's nave. The two-manual choir organ on the north-east side of the ship was connected to the console of this main organ, so that both instruments could be played from one location.
  • The choir organ was originally built in 1777-1778 by Friedrich Rudolf Dalitz. It had thirteen stops on the manual and ten on the pedal. In 1895 it was expanded by Otto Heinrichsdorff with an Oberwerk in romantic style and with pneumatic action. The old organ was revoiced. Some registers were renewed or replaced. During the construction by Kemper in the years 1935-1938, a two-manual organ with 32 registers was realized in the historic case of the choir organ. The organs were dedicated on December 21, 1938. Church organist Konrad Krieschen opened with a work by Bach, after which Günther Ramin played the inaugural concert.
  • Although the main organ was saved, this was not the case with the choir organ. It was destroyed in 1945 by fire as a result of bombing.
