1992 Gerhard Schmid  enlargement

  • In 1944, the old organ of the Sankt Annakirche in Augsburg was lost by bombing. The interior of this organ was installed in 1902 by Steinmeyer, but the prospect dated from the sixteenth century. In 1957 the Munich company Mooser completed a reconstruction of the old organ case with the installation of the prospect pipes. However, the case remained empty until 1978. In that year Ekkehard Stier completed a new organ. The organ had 37 stops on three manuals and pedal. The instrument was dedicated on July 30, 1978. Friedrich Städtler played the dedicational concert.
  • The organ was rebuilt and enlarged by Gerhard Schmid in 1992 to 45 stops.
