In 1798 an organ was placed in Tiradentes, which had been bought in Porto. The builder is unknown, but the organ has southern German characteristics. The organ case was made by Salvador de Oliveira, Antonio Rodrigues Penteado and Antonio da Costa Santeiro. The instrument is probably the work of José António dos Santos. It is one of the oldest organs in Brazil.
