1777 Johann Feyrstein  new organ
1931 Alois Fuetsch  new organ in old case
2015 Rieger Orgelbau  new organ in old case

  • In the years 1773-1777 Johann Feyrstein built a new organ for the Stiftskirche in Stams. It had two manuals and an independent pedal with a total number of 27 stops. During construction, Feyrstein took over pipework from the previous organ, which had been built in 1611 by Daniel Hayl.
  • In 1931 the interior was replaced by a new pneumatic organ with cone chests by Alois Fuetsch. Fuetsch also took over a lot of pipe work from the previous instrument. Of the 34 registers, nineteen contain pipework from 1611 and 1773.
  • In 2013, the Rieger company was commissioned to build a new organ with 43 stops in the historic case, in which the existing historic pipework has also been reinstated. The organ was completed at the end of 2015.
