In the Sankt Jacobuskirche in Miltenberg stands a historic organ case from 1699, built by Adam Philipp Schleich. The original interior has long since disappeared. In 1935 August Wilhelm Bittner built a new pneumatic organ behind the front. In 2004 this was replaced by a new organ with three manuals and pedal from the company Vleugels. The organ case was restored. Before the restoration it was painted white, now a red color has been applied. Solo and Echo work are on a common windchest and in a swell box. The pipework of 13 stops from the previous Bittner organ from 1935 has been reused. The new organ was put into use on July 25, 2004 with a concert by Peter Schäfer.
