  • The organ in the Finnish Church in Stockholm was built in 1790 by Olof Schwan. It was an instrument with twelve stops and an attached pedal. In 1825 Gustaf Andersson made repairs, replacing the Qvintadena 8' with a Gedackt 8'. In 1853 Anders Lindgren restored the organ. Again three stops were replaced, namely the Qvinta 3' and the Scharf 3 chor by a Gamba 8' and a so-called Sångstämma 8' and the Trumpet 4' (bass) was replaced by a Vox Humana 8' (bass). The Gamba, placed in 1853, was already replaced in 1864 by a Flûte Harmonique 8' by Frans Andersson. The most radical renovation took place in 1945 by the company Åkerman & Lund. They rebuilt the organ with pneumatic action, removed the original Flagflöjt 8' and the Flûte Harmonique and retuned the whole. Fortunately, much of Schwan's pipework had been preserved.
  • In 1992 the organ was carefully reconstructed by the same firm Åkerman & Lund according to plans by Carl-Gustaf Lewenhaupt and on the basis of examples from other Schwan organs. The Flagflöjt had been preserved after 1945 and could be relocated. The result is an organ from 1790 with largely original pipework, a unique instrument in Stockholm.
