Built by: Louis Benoît Hooghuys (1865)
Louis Hooghuys built a two-manual organ with an attached pedal in 1865 for the Sint Barbara Church in Maldegem. The previous organ of the church, an organ by Van Petegem from 1768, moved to Landskouter. The Hooghuys organ has been preserved virtually without modifications. It was renovated in 1957 by Alfons Joris. The Thomas company carried out a restoration in the years 2003-2005. Consultant was Jef Braekmans. The organ was put into use again on April 21, 2006, with a recital by Peter Ledaine.
