- The Walcker company built a new organ in 1965 for the old Münsterkirche in Essen, the Cathedral Church of the Ruhrbistum since 1958. It was dedicated on January 2, 1966. The organ was placed in the north transept. In the south transept the Bombardenwerk was hung like a swallow's nest organ, so that it functioned as a Fernwerk. Advisors during the construction were Josef Zimmermann and Heino Schubert. The front was designed by the architect Kleffner in Essen.
- In 2004, a new organ was put into use in the Domkirche. The Walcker organ was converted by Siegfried Sauer and transferred to the Sankt Cyriakus-Kirche in Weeze. Sauer made a new organ case and the mechanics were also rebuilt. The former Rückpositiv was given a place as Oberwerk. The Pedal is split into two chests to the left and right of the Hauptwerk. The console has four manuals. The fourth manual was reserved for a Bombardwerk with eleven stops yet to be built, which was installed in Essen as a Fernwerk. There is also a small electric console for accompanying the choir, to which only the Schwellwerk is connected. The organ was put into use on May 28, 2006, with a concert by Wolfgang Schwering, cathedral organist in Xanten and consultant during the project.
- The Bombardenwerk was installed in 2009 and was inaugurated on January 11, 2010.
