  • The organ of the Stadtkirche Sankt-Andreas in Lübbecke was originally built by Cord Kröger in 1628. This organ had 21 stops, two manuals and a pedal. It is possible that the Brustwerk was built later, with the date given as 1642. It would then probably have been constructed by Hermann Kröger, because Cord had died in 1641. Hauptwerk and Pedal had spring chests, the Brustwerk had a slider chest. The oldest known specification was noted in 1794 by Fr. Schneegass. This could well have been the original. Justus Heinrich Müller carried out restoration works in 1798.
  • In 1903 Ernst Klaßmeier noted the actual stop list, which is not the same as that of 1794. However, a large part of the old lead pipework was still present, the original windchests, and the keyboards with short octaves. He then demolished the old work.
  • Ernst Klaßmeier built a new organ in the old case in 1903-1904. This was a pneumatic organ with cone chests. It was put into use on March 27, 1904, Palm Sunday. A wind engine was already installed in 1913. The front pipes were requisitioned in 1917 (although they were made of zinc), and were probably replaced in 1926. On the advice of Arno Schönstedt, the organ was renovated by Förster & Nicolaus in 1951-1952, a new console was installed, and the disposition was changed and expanded to transform the organ into a more baroque character. The pure-pneumatic action was retained.
  • In 1959, a plan was started to restore the organ case to its original state and build a new organ with mechanical action and slider chests in the old case. The specification was designed by Arno Schönstedt, but was not copied from the well-known Krüger disposition from 1794. The organ was built as opus 288 by Gustav Steinmann and was completed at the end of December 1961.
  • Major maintenance was carried out by Ralf Müller in 2010. The wind pressure has been increased and the voicing of some registers has been revised. Since 2013, a committee has been raising funds for the construction of a new three-manual organ using part of the pipework from 1961.
