- The current church building of the First Church, Unitarian was dedicated in 1871. It replaced an earlier church, that was lost due to a fire. The congregation installed a second hand organ, built by E. & G.G. Hook in 1842 for the Third Congregational Church, later renamed to Unitarian Church, in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was donated to Northfield by the Springfield congregation, who had a new church being built with a larger pipe organ.
- In 2013-2014 a restoration was carried out by the Andover Company.
