In 1823, the brothers Lambert-Corneille and Pierre-Charles van Peteghem built a small organ for the church of the village of Mariakerke near Ghent. In 1888 the instrument was transferred by P. Vergaert to the church of Zele-Heikant. G. De Maeyer restored the organ in 1974 under the supervision of Antoon Fauconnier.
