Built by: Bernard Pels & Zn. (1959) - opus 467
Year | Builder | Opus | Activity | 1959 | Bernard Pels & Zn. | 467 | new organ | 1990 | M.C. Tiggelman | restoration |
- In 1959 the company Pels & Zn. built a new organ for the roman catholic parish church Sint Benedictus in Rijswijk, Zuid-Holland in the Netherlands. Consultant was P.J. de Bruyn on behalf of the KKOR. Most pedal stops are implemented as transmissions and extensions. The organ had no real case, the pipes were free standing. In later times an organ case was constructed around the interior. The organ was renovated by M.C. Tiggelman in 1990. Since July 1st, 2003, the church was closed for services. The building was demolished thereafter.
- The Pels organ was sold to the parish church of Saint Jack (Kostel sv. Jakuba) in Beroun in the Czech Republic. It was dedicated in this church on October 3rd, 2004 by the archbishop of Prague. The pedal organ was expanded with a new Quint 5 1/3', and the backside of the organ case is closed with a wood panel, because this was still open in Rijswijk.
- A couple of years after the installation in Beroun the organ was enlarged with a Bazuin 16' on the pedal, taken from the former Schiffner-organ of the Strahov Monastry and an suboctave coupler between the manual was installed.
