On May 30, 1929, a new organ was installed in the main hall of the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, built by the firm Furtwängler & Hammer. The instrument was placed in the new north wing of the museum, where the musical instrument collection was housed. This organ was built under the advice of Karl Straube according to the ideas of the Orgelbewegung. The organ was inspected by Günther Ramin. The organ was lost due to bombings during the Second World War in the night of December 3 to 4, 1943.
