Built by: Gebrüder Späth (1921)
The Heiliggeistkirche in Basel was dedicated in 1912. Various plans were made for the construction of an organ. Consultant was Mr. J. Dobler. In 1921, the Späth company from Rapperswil was commissioned for the construction. The instrument was put into use on October 2nd, 1921. Otto Rippl played the opening concert. In 1946 the Kuhn company carried out major maintenance. The Vox Coelestis was replaced by a Terz 1 3/5'. Over the years the organ fell into disrepair. Plans for new construction were not implemented. Ultimately, the instrument was restored by the Kuhn company under the advice of Rudolf Bruhin in the years 1982-1984. The Vox Coelestis, which had been removed in 1946, had been preserved by them and could be re-installed. On April 1, 1984, Egon Theimer gave a concert on the occasion of the recommissioning.
