The Hooghuys organ in the Sint Jacobskerk in Bruges, which has almost entirely been preserved in the original condition, was restored in 2012 by Schumacher Orgelbau, Eupen. The inauguration took place on September 7, 2012 with organist Ignace Michiels. The only modifications that have been made over time are the extensions of the pedal compass. Originally this keyboard had twenty keys (C-g°). This was replaced in 1898 by a larger keyboard with twenty-seven keys (C-d'). In 1926 Jules Anneessens expanded the keyboard to thirty keys (C-f'), the current size. A wind motor was also installed in 1926.
