  • The Sankt Marienkirche in Hannover was built in the years 1886-1890 in neo-Gothic style. The architect of the church was Christoph Hell. The church building was largely destroyed by bombing in 1945. The building was rebuilt in the years 1953-1954 according to plans by Wilhelm Fricke. The large organ of this church comes from the Domkirche in Braunschweig. In the years 1898-1901 the company Furtwängler & Hammer built a very large organ for this church. The instrument had 84 stops, divided over four manuals and pedal. The organ was placed in the existing organ case, which was made by Gebrüder Euler in 1880 for the previous organ. Except for this organ case, no materials were taken from this instrument, although there were many historical ranks. The new organ was equipped with pneumatic action and cone chests. In the years 1938/1939 the Gebr. Dutkowski renovated the instrument and electrified the action.
  • In 1962 the organ was demolished and replaced by a completely new instrument from the Schuke company. It was transferred to Hannover by the firm Hermann Hillebrand under consultancy of Theodor Peine. A new prospect has been designed by Heinz Wolff. The specification was mofidied. In 1965 the organ was inaugurated in Hannover.
