  • In 1859, the company E. & G.G. Hook installed their opus 254 in the Church of the Unity, 85 West Newton Street, Boston, Massachusetts. This church was built in 1857-1859 to a design by Thomas Silloway in classical style. The organ was not visible from the church, and had no facade. In 1870 the company Hook & Hastings overhauled the organ. They expanded the compass of Swell to the full manual, adding the bottom octave to the ranks.
  • The Church of the Unity was closed in 1897 and demolished. The organ has been transferred to new Zion Lutheran Church, built on the same location in 1898-1899, also to a design of Thomas W. Silloway, by George S. Hutchings. It is likely that at this the time organ case with the prospect was constructed. Zion Lutheran Church was sold to another congregation in 1957, All Saints' Lutheran Church.
  • When the church in Boston was closed in 1980, it was transformed to a cultural center with the name Jorge Hernandez Cultural Center, later called the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts. But when the building became redundant, it was finally demolished in December 2020.
  • The organ has been put in storage by the Andover Company in 1979, and after a thorough restoration it was reloacted in 1982 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, North Easton, Massachusetts. On November 21, 1982, the organ was dedicated on the new locaiton.
