Built by: Gottfried Silbermann (1737) - opus 34
Gottfried Silbermann built a new organ for the church of Ponitz in 1737 with two manuals and an independent pedal. The prospect was painted in 1757. Johann Wolfgang Müller built in chimes in 1782. In the nineteenth century the instrument was overhauled several times, including in 1828 by Friedrich Wilhelm Trampeli, in 1864 by Karl Ernst Poppe and in 1884 by Richard Kreutzbach. Hermann Eule restored the work in 1936. The last restoration was in 1984/1985, also by the company Eule.
