In de jaren 1985-1987 bouwde John Brombaugh een drieklaviers orgel voor de Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall van de Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Het instrument is ontworpen in de stijl van noord-Duitse barokorgels, met name van Arp Schnitger, uit de achttiende eeuw. Op 23 april 1987 is het orgel in gebruik genomen.
