Emmanuel College Chapel was designed by Christopher Wren and was inaugurated in 1688. An organ was donated to the school in 1686. It was built by Father Bernard Smith and had eleven registers. The organ has been rebuilt and expanded over time, by by Henry Turner in 1720 and 1733, by Hill & Sons in 1871 (extension with a swell and independent pedal) and in 1933 by Norman & Beard. The organ now had 33 registers. It was rebuilt in 1964 by Hill, Norman & Beard. The current organ was built in 1988 by Kenneth Jones. The old organ case has been restored to its original form. Part of the pipework has been taken from the existing instrument.
